During this ALL-INCLUSIVE course, students will use dummy cakes to learn and practice all the basic techniques of sugar paste.
They will cover a 3 tiered dummy cake, one edged cake, will shape and cover a novelty real cake, model 3 figures, a baby, a male and a female, make sugar bows, fantasy sugar flowers. decorate the cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and cookies using fondant and gum paste.
For those looking to work on real cakes only we do offer this as an alternative option
Students will also learn :
Crimping & Embossing, Airbrushing( basics), sugar painting, Candy melt moulding effects, Fabric Effects, Textured Drapes, Frills, Ribbons, Bows, & sugar Embroidery, Modelling Pet Figures, Textures, Inlay & Applique, Stacked Cake Design & Handling Designing Celebration Cakes & Color Balance.
The business side will cover guidelines on what to do when starting a cake business from home, Copyright & License issues, pricing cakes, advertising, insurance.
By the end of this course, you'll learn to cover, stack and decorate a 3 tiered dummy cake, a square/ rectangular dummy cake, make a baby figure and a couple of adult-like figurines, decorate 6 cupcakes, 2 cookies, carve and decorate a real cake ( see examples of projects done during the course on the photos attached).
The price you pay covers the tuition fees( 25 hours in class tuition), newest student kit, student book, templates and instructions to use during the course, styrofoam and real cakes, cupcakes, cookies, consumables, packaging and everything else you need for the course.
On successful completion of the module, you'll be getting a PME sugar paste certificate and the Academy's of Cake Decorating Diploma Certificate.
The course starts daily at 9 am and finishes at 6 pm.

At the end of the course, you'll take home your student kit, book, printed templates and instructions, all final projects, boards, decorations you will make during the course and most importantly the KNOWLEDGE & CONFIDENCE, lots of tips and tricks for you to use in further successful projects.

Paying by bank transfer will give you the chance to receive a £ 15 voucher which you can use in our sugarcraft shop to buy edibles/ nonedibles for cake decorating.

Light refreshments: tea, coffee, water, biscuits, crisps, fruits) will be available for free throughout the course. We break for a 30 min lunch break from 12.30-1 pm. Lunch is not provided so you need to make your own arrangements.

BEGINNERS, who want to learn cake decorating with fondant from scratch. As a beginner, you have to be prepared for an intensive 8 hr per day course.
