Students will learn how to work with fondant, gum paste and modelling paste to create stunning sugar paste-based projects during this course.
Most modern cakes are decorated using innovative techniques that require a good understanding of manoeuvre sugar pastes. The course will reveal the secrets behind decorating such beautiful cakes and help you achieve incredible results quickly.
During this course you'll learn how to:
-condition, roll and cover a cake and a board with fondant, apply the ribbon
-colour the fondant using gel colours, pre-coloured fondant and an airbrusher
-decorate and stack a 3 tiered round cake
-decorate a square/oblong cake
-achieve sharp edges, vintage, fabric, stone, cracked, wood, lace effects
-make sugar bows, non wired statement flowers, inlay decorations
-hand model pet and human figurines ( bride & groom, elephant, giraffe, dog, cat)
-make grass, trees, cobblestones, toadstools, Perles,
-paint on sugar using water and fat-soluble colours
-make the glass effect using glucose and piping gel
-decorate cookies, cake pops, cupcakes and set a candy bar
-carve( sculpt) and decorate 3 different cakes : a handbag, a shoe( trainer) and a pet( dog)
The course will also cover various business aspects of starting a cake decorating business from home. Essential steps which you need to follow to get your business registered and approved( UK based students only).

-how to price your cakes
-advertise your business based on a low budget
-start building your online reputation
-get the necessary equipment
-pick the right suppliers

- the tuition fee ( 15 hours live online tuition, over 30 hours offline tuition )
- the equipment( PME student kit & book)
- part of the consumables needed for doing your own projects based on the topics learned during the course ( 0.5 kg white gum paste, 1 kg modelling paste( mix of colours), 2 kg fondant, a selection of gel and dust colours)
- three months access to all printable, audio and video material ( instructions and recipes) needed for baking the cakes, making the fillings, cookies, cupcakes which you'll then use to decorate throughout this course. Also recipes for making your own gum paste, fondant and modelling paste.
