Learn how to make the wedding cake showed in the photo.
This project, due to the amount of time and the detailed work involved is not suitable for beginners. The class will run from 9.30 am till 7.30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break and coffee breaks when needed. Lunch is not provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch.
You can choose to work on styrofoam or real cakes ( vanilla/ chocolate / rich fruit).
Size of the cakes: bottom 12" hexagonal 3" deep, steps will be made out of cake the equivalent of an 8" cake, the top cake will be a 6" round 6" deep.
Sponge cakes will feed 140, rich fruit cakes will feed about 220.
During the class, you'll learn to make the steps of the church, you'll cover the cakes with fondant, make the decorations, some will be made out of gum paste some out of chocolate, pipe the grass and the roses, make the figurines, stack the cakes using dowels, set the decorations, figures and pack the cake at the end making it ready for transport.
Rich fruit cake can be stored in a dry and cold place and used within 3 months the other flavors will need to be stored in the fridge and the shelf life is about 10-12 day
